1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Visit http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/
3. Click the "Download Now" button.
4. Click the start download link.
5. Click the "Run" button. Make sure the "close this dialog box when download completes" box is NOT checked.
6. You will get a welcome window, click next.
7. Accept the agreement.
8. You may be asked to validate your copy of windows. This is recommended.Click the "Validate" button.
9. Click the "Install" button.
10. Clcik finish. Allow the program to update and launch.

Microsoft Security Essentials is a real-time shield for viruses. You do not have to run a scan for the shield to work. However, it is adviseable to scan your computer occasionally.
