- Restart your computer. When you see the first screen (usually the computer-manufacturer's name, press the F8 key several times.
- A white text on a black background screen should appear. Select safe mode.
- You may be warned about safe mode along the way, keep pressing next.
- Select your user account.
- double-click the malware bytes icon on your desktop.
- Click the "Update" Tab
- Clcik the "Check for Updates" button.
- Continue to press that button until you receive a message indicating that you have the latest database.
- Click the scanner tab.
- Select the preferred type of scan you'd like. Click the "Scan" button.
- When the scan is complete, click the "Review Results" button.
- Delete all malware in the listing.
- Restart the computer. Repeat steps 5 - 12 until you have a clean virus scan.
